A UK holiday with a dog can be wonderful or a headache, depending on the small print. Some holiday parks allow dogs in a handful of caravans only, charge a different fee every time, or limit you to a single dog. Away Resorts takes a simpler approach: according to its website, every one of its UK holiday parks and every accommodation grade is dog-friendly.

This guide explains how that works in practice, using information from the Away Resorts dog-friendly holidays page checked on 26 October 2026. Prices, rules and availability can change, so use this as a planning guide and confirm details when you book.

    What the Dog Charge Is

Away Resorts lists a standard dog charge that depends on the length of your stay. The page quotes the following figures and says there is no hidden extra pet fee beyond them.

    Length of stayDog chargeLimit
Short break (under 7 nights)From GBP 45 per dogMaximum of two dogs per accommodation
Long break (7 nights or more)From GBP 60 per dogMaximum of two dogs per accommodation

The word “from” matters here. Treat these as starting figures and check the exact amount in the booking process for your park and dates.

Every Park and Every Accommodation Grade

The most useful feature is the lack of restrictions on where you can stay. Away Resorts says dogs are welcome in classic caravans, in its exclusive lodges and in the dog-friendly lodges with hot tubs. The company operates 25 holiday parks across Cornwall, Hampshire, the Isle of Wight, Scotland, Lincolnshire, North Wales, Dorset, Essex and Yorkshire, so you can pick a region first and a park second.

    Extras for Your Dog

If you book exclusive accommodation, your dog receives a welcome goody bag. According to the page it contains poop bags, a collapsible bowl, a rope toy and a fleece blanket. There is also a dog menu available at 21 of the group’s venues, so your dog can eat while you have your own meal. The dog menu is only available at selected venues, so check before you rely on it.

    Dog-Friendly Lodges With Hot Tubs

If you want something a little more special, Away Resorts lists several dog-friendly lodges with hot tubs. The page names the following, together with the parks where each is available.

Outside the hot tub range, the page also lists dog-friendly caravans, lodges, cottages and chalets, described as a comfortable choice for families. If the budget matters more than the extras, a classic caravan carries the same dog policy, so you do not have to upgrade just to bring your dog.

Choosing a Region for Walks and Beaches

Away Resorts highlights seven regions for dog owners: Cornwall, the New Forest, the Isle of Wight, Lincolnshire, Scotland, Yorkshire and North Wales. Each of its parks is described as having dog-friendly beaches and walking routes nearby, though you should check local beach rules, because some beaches restrict dogs at certain times of the year.

    • Cornwall: the page mentions the South West Coastal Path near the Cornish parks, and the golden sands of St Ives Bay.
    • New Forest: ancient woodland trails near Sandy Balls.
    • Isle of Wight: dog-friendly beaches and coastal walks.
    • Lincolnshire: a guide to the top 15 things to do in the county with dogs.
    • Scotland, Yorkshire and North Wales: woodland, coastal and countryside walks.

For food, the page names dog-friendly places to eat such as Tattershall Park Pub, Sands Bistro at St Ives Bay and Aubrey Forest Kitchen, where your dog can settle under the table.

    Last-Minute and Budget Options

Two sections of the page suit flexible travellers. Last-minute dog-friendly holidays are offered as three-, four- or five-night breaks, with stays priced from GBP 250 to GBP 900. For a lower budget, the cheap dog-friendly holidays section lists breaks from two nights for under GBP 250. These are examples from the page, and actual prices depend on the park, accommodation and date.

Rules to Know Before You Book

    • Dogs must be house trained and kept under control, on a lead where required.
    • Certain breeds covered by the Dangerous Dogs Act are not permitted on park. The terms name examples including the XL Bully, Pitbull Terrier, Dogo Argentino, Fila Brasileiro and Japanese Tosa.
    • Dogs that are legally required to be muzzled are not allowed.
    • A maximum of two dogs per accommodation applies.
    • For groups of 13 or more, you are asked to speak to the team directly.

The terms also say Away Resorts welcomes all pets as long as they fit through the door, subject to the same conditions. Read the full pet policy on the park website before you travel.

    Is It Worth It?

Before you book, it helps to decide three things: how many dogs are coming, whether a hot tub matters, and how far you are willing to travel. A short trip to a nearby park in Lincolnshire or the Isle of Wight suits a quick weekend, while Cornwall or Scotland suits a longer break. The appeal is predictability. With every park and every accommodation grade open to dogs, a clear per-dog charge and a limit of two dogs, you can compare parks without worrying about the pet rules. The things to check are your breed, the exact dog charge for your dates and the dog menu at your chosen park.

If this sounds like your kind of trip, start by browsing the Away Resorts holiday parks and filtering for the region you prefer. If you want a hot tub lodge, the lodge table above is a good place to begin.
